Digitalization in the Context of Children's Language Learning: Theoretical Guidelines and Integrative Strategies

Abstract

The last two decades have witnessed a radical transformation in the global
educational landscape. This transformation has not been limited to changing tools or
media, but has extended to a profound re-engineering of the nature of the relationship
between the learner and knowledge, particularly in the foundational stages when a child
acquires their mother tongue or second language. At the heart of this transformation,
this research paper highlights digitalization as a key driver for reshaping learning
environments. This has compelled specialists in children's language education to
undertake a critical and comprehensive review of traditional curricula and explore the
potential of modern technologies in enhancing early language proficiency. We have
supported this with examples of successful digital education and concluded our research
with a set of recommendations that can improve the quality of digital education.
