Abstract

"Following an analytical study of the primary school leaving examination results, the Ministry of National Education has adopted a modern pedagogical approach, utilizing the 'Phono-Graphic Method' as a cornerstone for developing linguistic skills. Supported by a practical guide and methodological memoranda for field implementation, this approach aims to enhance reading and decoding skills among first and second-grade pupils. The method is based on two primary pillars: Phonological Awareness, which develops the ability to distinguish and analyze Arabic phonemes, and Graphic Awareness, which focuses on perceiving and rendering letterforms according to educational standards, leading to the proficiency in reading and writing words and sentences accurately."
