The Relative Contribution of Intellectual Moderation in Predicting the Extent of Awareness of the Dangers of Extremism as one of the Intellectual Viruses

Abstract

The present study aims to identify the level of both intellectual moderation and awareness of the dangers of extremism among university students. As well as revealing the nature of the relationship between intellectual moderation and their awareness of the dangers of extremism, as well as determining the relative contribution of intellectual moderation to predicting the risk of extremism as an intellectual virus among university students, With a sample of )250 (students and students, some universities in the Canal region of the Arab Republic of Egypt are the universities of the Suez Canal, Port Said and Zagaziq, Applied to them are the measures of intellectual moderation of university youth, and awareness of the dangers of extremism as one of the intellectual viruses of the university students, who are prepared/researched, and used the descriptive (curriculum). using computational averages, standard deviations, as well as Pearson's correlation coefficient, as well as the regression coefficient; The results indicated that the study sample individuals had moderate levels of both intellectual moderation and awareness of the dangers of extremism. The results also demonstrated a substantial correlation between intellectual moderation and their awareness of the dangers of extremism; In addition, the contribution of intellectual moderation to predicting the extent of radicalization awareness is 73.9%. In the light of these results A number of recommendations were made, including the need to enhance the value of intellectual moderation among undergraduate students, During training sessions and educational seminars to combat intellectual viruses, the most important of which is extremism
